Data Protection Policy

1 – Purpose

The Academy intends to provide you trainings on IDEMIA biometric products and solutions.


2 – Subscription

By registering your first name and last name and creating an account on our platform, you consent to enroll as an Academy student to follow various IDEMIA trainings.


3 – Data Controller

IDEMIA acts as a Data controller. Therefore by applying EU regulation as Regulation 2016/679 of the European Parliament and the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and any other Privacy Laws in the world, IDEMIA cares about your personal data and complies with all data protection regulations in all markets.


4 – Purpose of the collection

The purpose of the personal data collection is to enroll you as a member of the Academy and to enable you to access various trainings.

The processing of data collected via our Academy platform is carried out with your consent and/or in accordance with your contract or our legitimate interest.


5 – Personal data that we may collect

i. Personal data directly collected from you

Some of the personal data collected are those that you voluntarily provided to us:

  • Last Name, First Name
  • Company
  • Job title
  • Website
  • Country
  • Email address
  • Phone number


ii. Personal data automatically collected

In addition, in order to improve navigation, we collect data during your visit via the deposit and reading of tracers or cookies that you have the possibility of setting thanks to our cookies policy. These data are as follows:

  • Your login if you navigate on restricted parts of the Academy
  • The date and time of your visit to the Academy and your progress on the various courses
  • Our website uses Google analytics and do not use persistent cookies on your hard drive. Data is collected in the form of session information, generated during your visits, which is automatically destroyed at the end of the visit or in any case within 30 minutes in case of inactivity on your part


6 – Data retention

IDEMIA keeps the data collected via the Academy platform as long as you are a member of the Academy for the purposes set out in this policy, in accordance with the legal and regulatory requirements applicable to retention and limitation periods.

Upon your request, IDEMIA can delete your personal data.


7 –  Recipients of the data

IDEMIA ensures that your data is processed in complete security and confidentiality. To this end, IDEMIA has implemented appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent the loss, hacking, alteration and deletion of your data. Your personal data may be transferred to our affiliates and duly authorized partners under our same strict security measures for the only purpose as defined in article 1.


8 – Your access rights

You have the right to access, rectify, delete and limit the processing and the portability of your data. Your requests to exercise your rights should be addressed to our Data Protection Officer.

10 – Complaints

You also have the right to file a complaint concerning IDEMIA’s data processing activities concerning you with the Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés.


11 – Changes or updates of the Academy Data Protection Policy

We may change this Academy Data Protection Policy from time to time. We will post a “Last update” date of this Academy Data Protection Policy to indicate when it was last modified. We recommend that you visit this page regularly to review any changes or updates to our policy.
